Thanks to the Beavers - Mysterious Ways Indeed

By Liz Pumala and John Willis

So I wanted to take a second and introduce my self to everyone. My name is John Willis. I am the neighbor who has been diligently working on clearing trails rebuilding the dam and trying to keep the beavers from blocking the bridges up as well as cleaning up fallen trees and taking down the pool. You might see me on my 4 wheeler or tractor running around the property. I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. And how we got involved and met Liz Nelson Pumala is just a reminder of that. So after stopping some massive water I asked Liz to meet us at the property to see what her plans were and where I could help. After only about 3 seconds of speaking to her I realized she is a very special person. I told her when I started helping behind the scenes that people like her inspire strangers like me to help and give back. I gave her my word that I am all in to do what ever I can to help her build her dream for all the students and families. With that said I am all in. So if you see me running around feel free to stop me and say hello. This is an amazing community for the most part and can't wait to meet the students and get them to their new home ASAP. I am right next door if anyone needs anything. Liz thank you for letting us be involved in this all. You are truly a blessing and an inspiration.

When he says he is “all in” it’s an understatement… John has spent his weekends and nights working on our property since the first day we took ownership. He has purchased ten trail cameras to keep watch on all 88 acres, he purchased a new brush mower to get through our tall weeds, and let’s not even discuss the fuel he has used on our behalf... (We met because my bright idea to clear the beaver dam flooded his property, washed out his bridge and almost flooded out Trevor, until he came to the rescue.) He should have been so angry, but instead he was kind and offered to help. He truly meant his offer. John and Raquel, there will never be enough thank you’s for what you have already done for us and what I know you will always do. The only way I can appropriately repay you for the damage I caused, your time, your efforts and resources is for you to meet and get to know our students. They will fill your heart more than anything.

**For the record, if you’re going to completely ruin someone’s property, pick the neighbors with a property full of heavy equipment and the largest hearts I have ever met. THANK YOU JOHN!!
