Waking up to the angel numbers 4:44, has made my Mother’s Day.
I purchased our 1st Matthias brick in the memory of my mom, Teresa “Terry” Baltes. She was a mother to many always giving the best advice with the warmest intentions.
Today, as a busy mom myself, without my mom to plan Mother’s Day for, the day is just here. It’s not planned or thought about ahead of time. I reflect on my role as a daughter and parent and how I am so much like my mother. I’m always present, available for my family, hugs, kisses, acceptance, support, always no matter what. My mom was also our biggest vocal support and cheerleader. She was always talking to people about all of us, especially Kennedy. She spoke with such pride.
I need to be more like her in that way, spreading the importance of the need to support Matthias Academy. I mean, there are several families that have already moved to Kenosha just to provide a better life for their children. This alone speaks to the need and desperation. And, with the development of residential program, the waiting list keeps growing. Matthias is changing the value and meaning of long-term inclusive care by building a model that other communities can follow. We are extremely lucky to have been in the Matthias Family from the start. We don’t have another plan. Kennedy doesn’t have family to take over for us as we age. Like many others, when we can no longer care for Kennedy, she will only have her Matthias Family.
There is an opportunity for everyone to become a part of the change that Matthias is making. To help get the Matthias expansion kick started, please consider the Brick by Brick campaign. Buy one brick yourself or chip in with friends or family. You can advertise your business or create a lasting memeory for a lost loved one. Maybe, just buy one for Mother’s Day like I did.. With little to give or a lot, there are many ways to help. Follow the link to purchase, donate, and learn. Thank you.
